Gurdwara Chatti Patshahi, located at Kathi Darwaza in Rainawari, Srinagar, is one of the प्रमुख Sikh shrines in Kashmir and an important attraction in the city. It stands just outside the southern entrance of Hari Parbat Fort.

The sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind, traveled through Kashmir, preaching along the way and staying for a few days. The Gurdwara marks the site associated with visits by Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Hargobind; some traditions also mention a visit by Guru Har Rai. However, the shrine is specifically dedicated to Guru Hargobind and is therefore known as “Chhevin Patshahi,” meaning the Sixth Master. It is believed to stand at the residence of Mai Bhagbhari, a devoted follower who longed for the Guru’s darshan. According to tradition, Guru Hargobind fulfilled her wish by visiting her home and wearing her now-famous gown. The shrine is also situated near the banks of the Jhelum River and close to Dal Lake.

The Maharani Temple Gulmarg was constructed in 1915 by Mohini Bai Sisodhia, the wife of Maharaja Hari Singh. Associated with the Dogra rulers of Jammu and Kashmir, the temple stands prominently in the center of Gulmarg. It is often cited as a symbol of communal harmony, as a Muslim priest is known to perform rituals there, reflecting the interwoven religious traditions of the region.
