The Mamleshwar Temple is a well-known shrine in Pahalgam dedicated to Lord Shiva. Built entirely of stone by King Jayasimha, it is among the rare temples in the region constructed in this traditional style. The temple holds great religious importance and attracts devotees from across the state.

According to legend, the temple stands at the very spot where Lord Ganesha guarded the entrance for Goddess Parvati, preventing Lord Shiva from entering. Within the temple premises, there is also a shrine adorned completely in gold, adding to its spiritual and architectural significance.

The Mamleshwar Temple stands on a raised stone platform that supports its compact square structure. Inside the shrine, there is a small and dimly lit sanctum with a simple yet sacred ambiance. The inner chamber houses a revered Shivalinga, symbolizing Lord Shiva, and the architectural design reflects ancient stone craftsmanship with sturdy pillars supporting the roof, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere.
