Trekking is a must-do activity here, with multiple trails leading to scenic meadows and high-altitude lakes. The Dudhganga River is also considered one of the best spots for trout fishing in the region.

Day-1 Pakherpora Shrine

The Pakharpora Shrine, the sacred mausoleum of Syed Balkhi, is a prominent Muslim pilgrimage destination in Yusmarg. This centuries-old heritage site attracts large numbers of devotees during the annual urs, commemorating the saint’s death anniversary. The shrine’s grounds are home to rare trees that are not found elsewhere in Kashmir, adding to its unique charm.

Day-2 Charar-i-Sharief

Charar-i-Sharief was built to honor Sheikh Noor-ud-din, the patron saint of Kashmiris, and is the oldest sacred shrine in Jammu & Kashmir. This 600-year-old wooden shrine is highly revered not only by Muslim devotees but also by Hindus.

Commonly referred to as Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali, the shrine houses the saint’s remains, where he used to offer Friday prayers. During the annual Urs, marking the saint’s death anniversary, devotees from all faiths gather at the shrine to seek blessings.

Day-3 Dudh Ganga

Flowing gracefully through Yusmarg, the Dudh Ganga is admired for its milky-colored waters and abundant population of trout, making it one of the top destinations for angling and fishing in the region.

The river also serves as an excellent base for trekking adventures. From Dudh Ganga, trekkers embark on popular trails to destinations like Sang-e-Safed Valley, Tatakoti, Romesh Thong, and Sunset Peak after camping along its banks.

Day-4 Nilnag Lake

Nilnag Lake is a stunning high-altitude lake nestled amid dense pine forests, making it one of the top attractions near Yusmarg. Its sparkling blue waters, framed by towering pine trees and distant snow-covered mountains, create a picturesque setting that draws visitors.

For adventure enthusiasts, Nilnag also offers an exciting trekking experience. The trail winds through scenic pine forests with streams flowing alongside, leading to the lake via a challenging uphill path, promising unforgettable views and memorable moments.
